Thanks for visiting Legacy Farms!

We are a total family farm with 500 acres of row crops 50 miles south of Springfield and near Salem Illinois. We raise Limousin, Lim-flex, Simmental and SimAngus cattle.  We occasionally have a litter of Australian Shepherd puppies. Our emphasis has and always will be on sound, docile, productive cattle that will work whether in the show ring or feedlot. Over the years we've culled hard for disposition, structure and performance. All of the calves are broke to tie to test for disposition. Our cow herd manages on grass hay and pasture and very small amounts of protein and mineral supplements. Our bull calves must have above average scrotal development to stay bulls. We have fed out our own cattle, sold cattle as feeders and as processed beef and sell breeding stock. We pride ourselves in the care our cattle are given and the manner in which they are handled.

We love to show cattle. Through the years all the "kids" have benefited from all aspects of the show ring experience – from the wash rack to the tanbark. Our family has put many miles in a truck and trailer going to all level of shows from the local county fairs to the Limousin Junior Nationals to the North American in Louisville. We have lots of stories to tell! The people we've met, the experiences shared and the awards earned have enriched our lives in ways we never dreamt possible when we started so many years ago. Another generation is taking up the challenge and we can think of few family projects that teach kids more about responsibility and possibilities.
